One of my favorite questions to ask people is: “What is your favorite color?” I believe that the answer to this fun fact question can often give us a perceptive insight into somebody’s personality, and the things they consider important.
Do you also associate the color blue with serenity? Pink with love? Red with passion? I have always been deeply interested in color psychology. To think how all colors are interpreted by the mind differently and can actually impact our thoughts is a fascinating concept. I am also intrigued by how each culture has their own symbolism for different colors, and have often tried to find out more about this.
My favorite color is purple. This luxurious hue has long been associated with royalty and elegance. This is because only very wealthy people had access to purple dye in olden times. It has also been described as a mysterious and powerful color by people, and even assumed to be exotic.
I have devoted a series of creative projects to my favorite color, purple. So, if you love this color too, then you are sure to enjoy the ethical and sustainable jewelry that I have created at Paper Sweetly.
Below, you can find my new artwork and purple themed jewelry:
“Hamsa Hand” Art Piece
The Hamsa hand is depicted as an open right hand, to ward off the evil eye. It is a powerful image, recognized and used as a sign of protection. I have reimagined its traditional blue and white colors to fill it with all the bright and colorful hues of the spectrum. I have maintained the symmetry to depict the inherent art of the universe. The bright coils and twirls of paper and the intricate floral patterns are designed to make it a one-of-a-kind art piece. Check out more about this art here.
“Purple Peacock Feather” Earrings
A peacock is perhaps the most majestic of all birds. I felt it would be a fitting tribute to both, the elegance of the bird and the sophistication of the color to create earrings such as these. I have reimagined the magnificent tail of the peacock to be entirely purple, inset with soft lilac curls as well. Check out more about these earrings here.
“Purple Flower” Earrings
There are some very beautiful flowers in Mother Nature’s lap that are a pretty purple: the graceful wisteria, the proud petunias, the blooming lavender, the lovely mountain cornflowers. I have created these pretty purple earrings to remind you of the occurrence of this beautiful color in flowers and for you to have a regal pair of it in your jewelry box! Check out more about these earrings here.
“Purple Geometric Shape” Earrings
Do you love the elegance of the color purple and are also a fan of abstract shapes? Then, I have created the perfect pair of purple earrings for you. Made in a mesmerizing and carefully inter-woven shape of black, purple and white, these earrings are sure to impress those looking for a statement piece addition to their wardrobe. Check out more about these earrings here.
“Purple Star” Earrings
One of the most eye-catching things about the nighttime sky is its deep purple hue. It gives a sense of infinity and mystery. Stars are a representation of beauty and filled with light. I have created these “Purple Star” earrings as my interpretation of merging both these concepts, a steadfast symbol of light and exquisiteness. Check out more about these earrings here.
“Purple Butterfly” Earrings
One of the loveliest things to see on a spring afternoon is the sight of a colorful little butterfly, flitting in and out of flowers, sipping on nectar and leaving trails of smiles. I have created these purple butterfly earrings to remind you of the simple pleasures of doing nothing, and just watching sweet aspects of Mother Nature follow their course. Check out more about these earrings here.
