Between the Lines

Some of the most unexpected things are born from the most difficult moments.

Between the Lines began during one of the hardest creative periods of my life. My repetitive stress injury had flared up badly and the quilling techniques I had spent years perfecting were suddenly beyond my reach. So I picked up a pen instead. I started drawing patterns. Hundreds of them. Just lines on paper, shifting and rotating, seeing where they could go.

And somewhere in that quiet search I found this pattern. The moment I saw it I knew.

But I wanted to push it further. Paper strips that carry two colors in a single strip are not something you can easily find. So I made my own. I hand glued two different colored strips together, creating one strip that carries two completely different colors within it. Placed one after another with each strip slightly shifted from the last the result stopped me in my tracks.

Movement. Depth. Curves that appear where there are none. An optical illusion born from nothing but paper strips and determination.

Between the Lines is available in three colorways:

Purple, Yellow, Green & Pink - deep and moody like the last hour of a beautiful day.
Orange, Blue, Green & Purple - bold, vibrant and impossibly alive.
Green, Blue, Yellow & Orange - earthy, grounded and quietly powerful.
